Though its title pretty much gives nothing away about the nature or sublime quality of the gameplay, the Boxhead series has made somewhat of a name for itself in the third-person shooter genre, carving itself a comfortable niche with its highly distinctive style and unmistakable format. Boxhead: The Nightmare sees the inevitable return of the superbly angular aesthetic, endless waves of zombies, and other evil folk, but most importantly of the defense game that through sheer brilliance of design and simplicity in gameplay has become synonymous with quality in the flash gaming market.
The Walking Dead is a really successful brand. The comic books achieved a solid cult following on its own. The AMC TV series garnered a massive amount of fans to the show. So when it was first announced that Telltale games was working on a point and click style Walking Dead game series, we were not all that surprised, and frankly, we did not expect much of it –until the first glorious game out. And from that point onwards, the episodic Walking Dead video game took a life of its’ own (pun intended).
The first instalment of the Resident Evil games this edition was released in 1996 but then rereleased in 2002 with upgraded graphics, music plus plenty of new game play features. It is a whole lot of zombie fun where you will have a great time shooting the monsters into oblivion by using many different means that are made available to you. It’s fast and furious with a great storyline that zombie fans will really enjoy playing.
Following up from The Umbrella Chronicles this is a great sequel. The story carries on from the previous edition and is filled with excitement and fun that will keep you playing for hours. I am a huge Resident Evil fan but do try to come from an “on the fence “perspective being objective in my opinions while at the same time true to myself. This game is superb plus is definitely one for the zombie collection. Where else can you commit murder or cause mayhem guilt free except in a gruesome zombie game, so let’s get under way.
This is a strange one. I had heard on the grapevine that it was unusual but that is an understatement. That said I absolutely love it. It is funny, well it is if you like body part jokes, it is different plus it has great graphics, colourful while exquisitely designed and superb soundtrack all in one fantastic zombie adventure. Play this one if you dare you certainly won’t be sorry plus you will have laughs and hours of entertainment along the way.
This game as you would expect is set in the Resident Evil Universe with teams completing missions against the clock to free the place of zombies. There are twenty missions across six levels that get more and more difficult as you progress. The first few are more like tutorials so you can reduce that number by three or four in reality. The game has the time honoured features of Resident Evil the Mercenaries but with great 3D effects making it a worthy release in this fabulous format for the zombie genre.
What other way could you run around the place blasting at the enemy while taking great delight in blowing them to smithereens? Resident Evil Revelations is simply a superlative, fantastic zombie fighting game that I cannot praise highly enough. It is filled with suspense, so will keep you on the edge of your seat as you play, something that not all zombie games actually do. This game is so realistic that you will almost think you are there facing the evil hordes in person.
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles is a combination of light gun game play plus gun survivor game that will take you into the superior realms of the Resident Evil series. As a long time ardent fan of Resident Evil games I was really looking forward to this edition and believe me I am not disappointed. It incorporates all the characters, weapons, locations plus much more into one huge nostalgic saunter down memory lane for those of us who have played Resident evil from the start.
Just imagine yourself speeding down the high street in a car full of weapons running over evil zombies to destroy them. Zombie Driver a short downloadable game allows you to do just that in the most exciting way that fans of this type of game will not want to leave until every last monster is disposed of. Not only this you can blow them up or set them alight to watch them combust in a very satisfying way. This is what zombie games are all about, you can release the monster within to destroy the enemy with no guilt trip or regrets.
Burn Zombie Burn is the ultimate zombie game that gives all fans the opportunity to blast those freaks into oblivion! You play as the character Bruce who is trying to save his girlfriend from the zombie hoards by any means available. Burn Zombie Burn is a strategy game, is quite short, but this doesn’t detract from the enjoyment factor at all as you destroy the festering monsters one by one or a bunch at a time.
Dead Island Special Edition follows up the original Dead Island with an added extra which is The Blood Bath Arena. Set on the island of Banoi a sumptuous tropical paradise with golden beaches and beautiful swaying palm trees it is a fantastic zombie shooting game that fans will love. In Dead Island the place ended up swarming with zombies following an outbreak on the island with only four survivors who for some strange reason were immune to the virus.
John Marston was a great hero in the first edition of the Red Dead games so it is with great delight that I can announce the release of the sequel Red Dead Undead Nightmare. It was a very dark episode last time around but this edition is less so with new additions in many areas that will keep you playing for hours.
There are so many zombie games on the market that you may think all the ideas and situations have been well worn but somehow we fans just never get tired of blasting them off the screen over and over again. All Zombies Must Die is everything you would expect from a shoot em up zombie game plus a bit more as it is a twin sticker shooter offering.
Left 4 Dead 2 is a superb sequel to the original game as it has improved somewhat in many areas. There are more locations with five new maps along with five modes making it a riveting new episode you zombie fans wont want to miss out on. With new weapons, new characters as well as new survivors it makes for an fantastic zombie destroying experience that is extremely entertaining.
Fancy your dream holiday on a beautiful tropical island with palm trees swaying in the breeze while you lay on the sun drenched sand getting a golden tan? Dead island looks like one such place until you scrutinise it properly then you get the real picture. It has been taken over by evil zombies who will make sure that you don’t get that tan so watch out next time you book your vacation as it might be your last!
I am a huge zombie game fan so bought Dead Rising 2 to add to my ever increasing mountain of the aforesaid genre. It is the usual zombie madness and mayhem but for me, well I just never tire of gunning them down, so saving the world. This story takes place in Fortune City a place of degradation, gambling plus all the other vices you can imagine so is a perfect location for the undead to unleash its hordes to frighten and amaze as you set out on your journey.
Welcome back to the world of Necronator! Now if you are a veteran of the previous game, it is highly likely that you have been left surprised and disoriented with the all new gameplay system. Gone is the old “spread a zombie plague” gameplay of the original title. Now you will have to deal with enemies manually, controlling each of your troops every step of the way and guiding them to victory RTS style. As impressive as this may sound, the controls are actually a lot less sensible than the previous title and there are plenty of new gameplay features to be learned.
